Virgin Scent Inc. hand sanitizers contained benzene at levels far exceeding an emergency interim limit enacted because of additional demand created by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a new proposed class suit in a California federal court.
Lauren Slaughter’s April 2 suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California follows a March 24 report by Valisure, an independent analytical laboratory, that detected high levels of benzene and other contaminants in hand sanitizer products from a number of companies.
