Villanova University settled allegations by a former finance director that she faced discrimination and retaliation based on her race and religion.
The case was dismissed with prejudice Thursday after the parties notified the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania of a settlement. Jennifer Powell-Folks, who is Black and a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, alleged that she was criticized and excluded from projects during her employment at the Catholic school due to her religion. She claimed she was terminated roughly two weeks after reporting the alleged discrimination to human resources in 2023.
