VF Jeanswear, Black Workers Agree to End Biased Hiring Lawsuit

VF Jeanswear LP, parent company Kontoor Brands Inc., and two Black women who accused the companies of discriminating against applicants of color when filling unskilled jobs at an Alabama distribution center agreed to drop the women’s lawsuit, federal court records show.

Desiree and Angel Wallace filed the case under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and 42 U.S.C. §1981 as a proposed class action in December 2018.

The parties informed the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama Monday that “the matter has been resolved” and the women were voluntarily dropping their claims. The court ...
