Vermont Accuses PBMs of Driving Up Prescription Drug Costs (1)

Vermont is accusing pharmacy benefit managers CVS and Evernorth of unfairly driving up drug prices, the latest state to take on the third parties that manage prescription drug benefits.

CVS and Evernorth, the owner of Express Scripts, “have distorted the market to their benefit at the expense of Vermont patients and payors” to the tune of millions of dollars annually, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in Vermont Superior Court.
