Verizon Retailer Fails to Undo Workers’ Nearly $577,000 Fees Win

An upstate New York Verizon Wireless retailer must pay workers’ attorneys nearly $577,000 in fees after the Second Circuit ruled Wednesday that the amount was reasonable following a decade of wage litigation with mixed results.

Cellular Sales of New York LLC and Cellular Sales of Knoxville Inc. argued that the lower court should have reduced the workers’ $961,000 attorneys’ fees request even further because several of the wage-and-hour complaint’s claims failed. But the district judge’s determination wasn’t an abuse of discretion, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said.
