Venture Logistics failed to protect the personal information of more than 9,000 current and former employees that was exposed in a May 2023 data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Julio Vargas, a former Venture employee, alleged that the trucking company breached its duties under common law and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and up-to-date data-security measures, adequately train its employees, and provide timely notice of the breach, the Thursday complaint said.
