Venture Transportation Partners’ agreement to pay nearly $1 million to settle a data breach class action on behalf of 9,328 people received final approval from a federal court.
Class representative Julio Vargas had disclosed his personal information—including Social Security numbers, government identification, and financial and health information—to work for Venture, but said that the credit monitoring the logistics company originally provided to current and former employees wasn’t sufficient to compensate for their losses, according to the motion for final approval submitted to the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
