Venezuelans Get Court to Stop Removal by Trump Officials (1)

The Trump Administration is barred from removing Venezuelan nationals accused of being members of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization, a Texas federal district court said.

President Donald Trump‘s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to remove anonymous petitioner M.A.P.S. and others is unlawful, Judge David Briones of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas said in a Monday order, granting the petitioner’s motion for a preliminary injunction.

Mass illegal migration or criminal activities don’t fall within the act’s statutory boundaries, the court said.
