Vaxxinova Alleges Zoetis Infringed Its Animal Vaccine Patents

Animal health company Epitopix LLC sued its competitor Zoetis Inc. for patent infringement over technology used in vaccines for livestock, poultry, and other animals.

Epitopix, doing business as Vaxxinova, alleged Zoetis employed its siderophore receptor protein, or SRP, technology in its products “beyond the scope of the limited commercialization rights” granted by its previous agreements.

According to the complaint, the parties entered into a development, commercialization and supply agreement in 2012 following Zoetis’s spinoff from Pfizer. That agreement terminated effective Jan. 1, 2021, according to Vaxxinova.
