Vanderbilt Gets Relief in Student Election Dispute With NLRB (2)

Vanderbilt University secured injunctive relief in its dispute with the National Labor Relations Board concerning information the board is seeking about a graduate student election, a federal district court said.

Vanderbilt is likely to win its claim that the NLRB is unlawfully applying regulations that would require sharing information about their students without their consent, because their application conflicts with Vanderbilt’s Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act obligations, Judge Waverly Crenshaw, an Obama appointee to the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, held Thursday.
