Van Leeuwen Sued Over ‘Honeycomb’ Ice Cream That Lacks Honey

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream LLC was accused of misleading customers into believing that the Brooklyn-based company’s high-priced products labeled “honeycomb” contain actual honey when they don’t.

The company’s Honeycomb, Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb, Honeycomb Fudge Ripple ice creams as well as its Honeycomb Caramel Ice Cream Sandwich “do not contain any honeycomb, let alone honey whatsoever,” according to the proposed class action filed Nov. 15 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
