Utah Wins Dismissal of Snapchat Suit Over Age-Check Enforcement

Snap Inc. has lost its lawsuit challenging Utah’s use of its consumer-protection statutes to regulate the social-media platform’s interactions with minors.

The US District Court for the District of Utah should abstain from involvement in the matter because of the possibility of undue interference with Utah’s state-court enforcement lawsuit against Snapchat’s corporate parent, Judge Jill N. Parrish said Tuesday.

Parrish declined to exercise jurisdiction over Snap’s suit and granted the state’s motion to dismiss it.
