USPS Convinces Court to Drop Former Clerk’s Harassment Claims

The US Postal Service has survived hostile work environment claims from a former postal worker who alleged she was sexually harassed by her supervisor, in part because her allegations were found untimely.

USPS also took “reasonable care” to address the alleged harassment, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said as it granted the agency’s summary judgment motion.

“The Court’s conclusion by no means condones” the conduct former USPS clerk Laurel Colestock faced, Judge Lauren King said in a Wednesday opinion. “Quite the opposite: The conduct of which [Colestock] complains was highly reprehensible,’” she said.
