A former high-ranking University of Southern California athletics official sued the school Thursday, alleging she was fired in retaliation for complaining about discrimination and harassment in one of the state’s earliest intersectional discrimination claims.
Joyce Bell Limbrick, a Black woman, was the Senior Woman Administrator in the athletics department until her career was derailed when the university in 2019 hired Mike Bohn as its athletic director, according to her complaint filed in California Superior Court, Los Angeles County.
