US Gets Another Shot at Ex-Fox Executive in FIFA Bribes Case (1)

A US district court improperly threw out a fraud conviction against former Twenty-First Century Fox executive Hernan Lopez for his involvement in a FIFA corruption scandal, the Second Circuit said Wednesday.

The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York should decide on remand whether the government provided enough evidence to establish a conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, Judge John M. Walker Jr. of the the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said. The appeals court vacated the lower court’s judgments and remanded the case.
