US Fencing Association, Coach Settle Athlete’s Sex Abuse Claims

The US Fencing Association and a coach have settled a suit brought by a once-aspiring Olympic athlete alleging the coach sexually abused her in the 1990s when she was a minor.

Judge Susan R. Bolton of the US District Court for the District of Arizona dismissed the claims Tuesday on the stipulation of the parties.

The parties’ notice of settlement didn’t include the terms of the agreement and counsel didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
