A US Bank NA mortgage loan assistant can pursue claims that her rights under Washington state job bias and family medical leave laws were interfered with when she was laid off while on maternity leave.

The bank was off-base in arguing that the lawsuit had to be dismissed because the former employee’s complaint constituted a prohibited “shotgun pleading,” the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said Thursday.
