Urgent Care Operator Must Defend Privacy Case Over Meta Pixel

Midwest Express Care Inc. failed to convince a federal district court to dismiss allegations that the urgent care clinic operator shared personal health data with Google LLC and Meta Inc. via their tracking tools.

The trackers may have received patient searches on Midwest Express’ website, and therefore info on their health conditions and medical treatments, according to court documents.

Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said Wednesday there’s sufficient support to proceed on a negligence claim against the company, which operates in Illinois and Indiana.
