Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie Beat Lace-Based Copyright Claims

Urban Outfitters Inc. and Anthropologie Inc. convinced a federal judge to throw out some of the claims in a lawsuit over two dresses with lace straps with specific patterns.

The defendant retailers were sued by Klauber Bros. Inc., which has also accused Saks Inc. and others of infringing a copyright in a lace design. Saks won dismissal of that suit in October.
