UPS Fails to Escape New Jersey Class Action Over Notary Fees

The UPS Store Inc. must face allegations that its New Jersey franchisees are overcharging consumers for notary services.

The consumers who brought the suit plausibly alleged UPS “has the right to control the day-to-day operations” of its franchisees on notary transactions and pricing, Chief Judge Renée Marie Bumb of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said in a Thursday order.
