Univision Subscribers Denied Class Status in Video-Privacy Suit

Univision NOW subscribers suing the streaming service over its alleged sharing of their video-watching history with Meta Platforms Inc. can’t bring their privacy claims as a class action, a federal court ruled.

Plaintiffs Mauricio Martinez, Francisco Giron, and Guadalupe Rodriguez proposed class criteria that were objective and capable of determination, making the class ascertainable, but they failed to provide evidence that the class was large enough to meet the test of numerosity, Senior Judge Robert N. Scola Jr. of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said Tuesday.
