University of Texas Resolves Race Admissions Case with Students

University of Texas at Austin no longer faces claims related to the potential use of race in admissions decisions after a student group accepted additional policy changes from the school and agreed to dismiss the case.

The dismissal comes after UT informed the plaintiffs, Students for Fair Admissions, that it was making changes to its undergraduate admissions process in November, specifically that no one who works in the admissions office will have access to check-box racial data from student applications.

The case is dismissed without prejudice , US District Court Judge Robert Pitman said in an order.
