The University of Texas-Austin didn’t adequately look into sexual harassment complaints a female academic adviser made against a male assistant dean in the school’s music department, a federal lawsuit alleges.
UT retaliated against the woman, Malia LiVolsi, who resigned last year after she returned to work from a mental health break and the dean gave her “an extraordinarily long” list of tasks to perform, the suit claimed.
LiVolsi is asking a judge to award her lost wages and benefits, damages, and to reinstate her with a promotion that she had eyed before her departure.
University of Texas declined to comment. ...
