University of Oregon Settles Suit Over Blocking Professor on X

The University of Oregon admitted as part of a settlement that it was a mistake to block a professor from its diversity-themed X account for posting “all men are created equal” in response to an anti-racism prompt.

Portland State University professor Bruce Gilley and the university filed a joint stipulation with the US District Court for the District of Oregon that described the event as “an isolated incident that should not have happened.” The parties jointly moved to dismiss the suit in light of the settlement
