University of Minnesota Sued Over Breach Affecting 7 Million

The University of Minnesota failed to protect the personal information of more than 7 million people—including current and former students and employees—that was exposed in a July data breach, a proposed federal class action said.

Geoff Dittberner and Mary Wint allege the university failed to implement adequate policies and procedures to protect their sensitive information, as well as that of student applicants, job applicants, patients in the University of Minnesota health system, and others.
