A former University of Chicago student can proceed with claims that his dismissal from the school was discriminatory, a federal judge said Thursday.
Robert Hight adequately alleged the university violated federal anti-discrimination laws when it failed to investigate “‘whether the final professionalism complaint was caused by the medication reaction’ or determine whether his ‘medication reaction which caused the final professionalism concern could be accommodated.’” Judge Lindsay C. Jenkins, of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, partially denied the school’s bid to dismiss Hight’s complaint.
