A California federal judge appeared ready to dismiss two of three music industry claims against Anthropic PBC alleging the AI startup’s chatbot copies song lyrics without permission, but said that she’d likely allow the publishers to amend and refile them.

Judge Eumi Lee in the US District Court for the Northern District of California didn’t make a final ruling in the Thursday hearing.
