United Healthcare Services Inc. has been sued by Aventus Health LLC, several labs, and an individual would-be class representative, over the insurer’s alleged failure to pay more than 34,000 claims for Covid-19 tests.
The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida on Wednesday, alleges that UHS and several of its subsidiaries, including OptumHealth Care Solutions, have made it nearly impossible to appeal denials, calling the internal appeals procedures a “joke.”
