United Airlines Passenger Admits to Attacking Crew Mid-Flight

A United Airlines passenger accused of attacking a flight attendant on a plane from Los Angeles to Boston in March 2023 has pleaded guilty to one count of interference with crew members and attendants using a dangerous weapon.

Francisco Severo Torres entered his guilty plea on Monday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts before Judge Patti B. Saris. He was initially deemed not competent to stand trial and hospitalized but has since recovered enough to understand the nature and consequences of the proceedings against him, the court said.
