Unions suing the US Patent and Trademark Office and National Weather Service over President Donald Trump’s cancellation of their collective bargaining agreements asked a court to reinstate their contracts while litigation proceeds.
The Patent Office Professional Association and the National Weather Service Employees Organization would suffer irreparable harm without a ruling temporarily blocking the executive orders that canceled the union contracts, the Oct. 24 motion for preliminary injunction filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia said. POPA’s canceled collective bargaining agreement covered more than 8000 patent examiners and other PTO employees.
