Union Pacific Must Produce ‘Per-Scan’ Data in Biometric Lawsuit

Union Pacific Railroad Co. must turn over information to plaintiff truck drivers in a biometric privacy lawsuit that could support billions in damages, a federal court ruled.

Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Cole of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted the plaintiffs’ motion to require the railroad to disclose how many times each trucker used a fingerprint scanner at one of its facilities.
