Union Pacific, Applicants Agree to End Medical History Suit (1)

A proposed class action that claimed the Union Pacific Railroad Company illegally asked potential employees about their genetic and families’ medical histories has been dismissed.

Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman, of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, permanently dismissed claims from two applicants to work at Union Pacific, after the pair and the company filed a joint stipulation of voluntary dismissal. Coleman also dismissed the claims of the proposed class without prejudice to the refiling of the class claims.
