Union Owes SEPTA Bus Driver $284,000 for Aiding Disability Bias

A former Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus operator proved that the agency denied him a reasonable accommodation for his chronic kidney disease, forcing him to quit, and that his union aided or abetted the bias, a Philadelphia federal judge ruled.

Both findings were necessary for Aaron Lett to hold International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers Local 1594 liable under the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.
