Unilever Faces Deception Claims Over Dove Bodywash Label

Unilever United States Inc. must face proposed class claims that it duped Dove Deep Moisture Bodywash consumers into thinking the product is gentle to the skin, a federal court in New York said.

Aliyah Anderson alleges that Unilever’s representations that the bodywash is gentle and healthy for the skin’s microbiome—a protective layer made up of microorganisms—are misleading because it contains ingredients that trigger skin reactions.
