Underground Artists Say Luxury Fashion Brand Copied Their Works

Richard Kern and Lydia Lunch, a filmmaker and singer who came to prominence during the New York underground scene in the 1980s, have accused a luxury punk fashion brand of copying their stills and lyrics for its products.

Enfants Riches Déprimés LLC used two photographs and lyrics on sneakers made in collaboration with Vans and shirts that were sold on an online clothing marketplace called Grailed Inc, according to Kern and Lunch’s complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California on Thursday. Grailed is also a named defendant.
