UC Law San Francisco Name Change Upheld by State Appeals Court

UC College of the Law, San Francisco can keep its new name after a California appeals court upheld a trial judge’s dismissal of a lawsuit brought by alumni and descendants of Serranus Clinton Hastings.

The suit challenged a state law, effective January 2023, to rename UC Hastings College of the Law and remove the designation of a Board seat for a Hastings descendant.
