Uber’s Defunct Alcohol Service Settles With NY for $4 Million

The New York attorney general’s office has reached a $4 million settlement with the now-defunct alcohol delivery platform Drizly for witholding tips from delivery drivers.

Drizly, which was acquired by Uber in 2021 and then dissolved by the company in 2024, failed to ensure delivery workers received their tips, the attorney general’s office said in a Tuesday press release. A state investigation found that in cases where liquor stores chose to use their own drivers, Drizly gave all tips to the store owners who then decided how tips would be distributed.
