New York’s highest court sided with Uber Technologies Inc. Monday saying all legal claims against the company—even those pending before a court—must first go through arbitration.
The Court of Appeals’ 5-2 decision affirms an appellate court ruling that users who signed Uber’s 2021 updated terms of service agreed to arbitrate any disputes with the company, whether or not they actually reviewed or understood the provisions in the agreement.
