Uber Notches Partial Win in California PAGA Arbitration Dispute

Uber Technologies Inc. scored a partial win Friday after a California appeals court ordered a driver’s individual claims of violating a unique state labor law to arbitration while ordering a trial for claims suffered by other current and former workers.

Justices, ruling in a case the US Supreme Court remanded, held Johnathon Gregg’s misclassification lawsuit must go to arbitration as it pertains to his California Labor Code violations.

The former driver sued the ride-hailing service for allegedly failing to pay overtime and failing to provide meal and rest breaks. Uber argued Gregg must arbitrate the grievances under the technology service ...
