Uber Ex-Security Chief Charged in Hack Ends Bid for Legal Fees

Uber Technologies Inc.'s former chief security officer dropped his Delaware lawsuit demanding legal fees from the Silicon Valley giant to cover his defense against federal criminal charges stemming from a 2016 data breach.

Joseph Sullivan’s voluntary dismissal notice, filed in Delaware’s Chancery Court, doesn’t explicitly say whether the company agreed to cover his fees, but an attorney for Sullivan told Bloomberg Law on Wednesday that the parties “have resolved their dispute.” The lawyer, Albert J. Carroll of Morris James LLP, declined to comment further.
