Twitter Owes Severance, Ignored Layoff-Notice Laws, Ex-VP Says

A former Twitter Inc. vice president and five other workers accuse the social media company of stiffing them on promised severance and failing to follow laws on required notice periods for mass layoffs.

Twitter, now known as X Corp., has parted ways with nearly 75% of its workforce following Elon Musk’s November 2022 takeover of the company. Twitter’s post merger leadership “deliberately, specifically, and repeatedly announced their intentions to breach contracts, violate laws, and otherwise ignore their legal obligations,” according to a complaint docketed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
