A professor lacked triable proof that Tufts University denied her promotion to full professor because she’s a woman or because she complained about sexual harassment, the First Circuit said.
The ruling Tuesday affirmed a lower court’s grant of summary judgment to the university in the 2021 lawsuit. The decision turned in part on whether the evidence showed the professor was qualified for promotion, an issue often seen in employment discrimination cases.
