Labor unions representing employees at the Departments of Energy and the Interior sued the Trump administration Thursday over illegally canceled collective bargaining agreements.
Local unions of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers alleged Trump’s March executive order declaring large swaths of public sector employees exempt from union bargaining contracts is illegal. The unions represent over 1,000 employees at the agencies across the Western US, and represents electricians, linemen, and mechanics.
The lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia is the latest from labor unions challenging the administration’s attempt to strip federal employees of their union status. ...
