Trump Seeks to Control Election Law Fights, DNC Suit Says (1)

Democrats sued President Donald Trump over an executive order that they argue would eliminate the bipartisan nature of the Federal Election Commission by shifting legal authority to the White House.

The suit by the Democratic National Committee — the group’s first against Trump since he started his second term — was filed Friday in federal court in Washington. The complaint also names US Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Federal Election Commission itself and four commissioners.
