A Trump administration policy that put hundreds of thousands of migrants granted parole at a US port of entry at risk of expedited removal was paused Friday by a federal court.
The case is “narrowly a straightforward” one and Department of Homeland Security actions likely both exceed the department’s authority and are arbitrary and capricious, US District Court for the District of Columbia Judge Jia M. Cobb wrote Friday. She granted a stay to all noncitizens paroled in the US until the conclusion of the litigation.
