Trump, DOGE Sued By Watchdog Group Over Record Keeping Practices

President Donald Trump was hit with a lawsuit from a watchdog group claiming his administration’s Department of Government Efficiency is violating federal record keeping laws.

Trump and the DOGE are skirting transparency obligations under the Federal Records Act by moving to shield documents from the Freedom of Information Act, the Project on Government Oversight Inc. said a complaint Friday.

“Musk and DOGE have run roughshod over record keeping requirements designed, in part, to bring greater transparency and accountability to the government,” the complaint argues.
