Trump Blocked From Rescinding Funding to Sanctuary Cities (1)

President Donald Trump’s executive orders withholding federal funds for cities and counties that refuse to dedicate resources to enforcing federal immigration law was temporarily blocked by a federal judge Thursday.

Judge William H. Orrick of the US District Court for the Northern District of California granted a motion for preliminary injunction by San Francisco and 15 other cities and counties, finding that the “sanctuary jurisdictions” are likely to show the orders are unconstitutional and they face irreparable harm if they lose federal funds.
