President Donald Trump asked the US Supreme Court to block a judge’s order that requires the immediate disbursement of as much as $2 billion in USAID humanitarian-assistance projects around the world.

The emergency request comes after US District Judge Amir Ali said this week that the administration had failed to comply with an earlier order to lift a freeze on foreign assistance through the US Agency for International Development.
