Trucker Group Sues State, Federal Officials Over Licensing Pause

A trucker association sued federal and California officials Wednesday after they allegedly blocked commercial drivers from renewing their licenses during a federal compliance review.

The Chinese American Truckers Association says the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s September order pausing California’s processing of non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses violates the Administrative Procedures Act and the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, they say in a complaint in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The association also sued the California Department of Motor Vehicles over its enforcement of the order.
