Troutman Pepper Lawyer Says History of Race Bias Warrants Trial

A former Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP attorney told a D.C. federal court her termination was part of the firm’s historical discriminatory treatment of Black female lawyers and a jury should hear her claims.

Troutman Pepper’s contention in seeking summary judgment in the January 2024 lawsuit that Gita Sankano was terminated for performance reasons is belied by its own “documents and testimony” and lack of evidence, she said Wednesday in opposing the motion.
